True Benefits of Yoga

Today's yoga consists of various poses, postures, and breathing techniques.

At the Mind-Body level, this is known as "raja yoga" and consists of various yoga forms such as (e.g.); Hatha, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Kundalini, Kriya, etc. These yoga forms provide tangible benefits to internal organs, muscles, joints, ligaments, nerves, and related bio-chemical, mechanical and structural aspects which can include, but not limited to, better circulation, relaxation, flexibility, etc.

At the Spirit-Mind-Body level, the yoga forms which are relevant are; Karma (action), Jnana (wisdom), Bhakti (faith) which all lead to the final yoga form; Atma (consciousness); a state known as Samadhi (equanimity). Inherent benefits include, but not limited to, stress management, endurance, performance, and overcoming specific underlying problems / issues.

In all cases, along the Spirit-Mind-Body value chain, the entire process is known as "sadhana" or "inward path".

Yoga is all about choices and consequences. It is all about leveraging what is within each individual; truly listening to the breath as "beings are many; breath is only One."

There is no one form of yoga which is right for all, yet, all forms of yoga have their own tangible and inherent benefits. It is really all up to the individual to choose and continue towards success.
