Upcoming BCS Polls

It is has been over a decade now that the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) has set the stage for crowning the national champion in college football. There have been repeat championship teams such as Florida, LSU and Alabama. It is now only a couple of days away for the first 2012 Bowl Championship Series (BCS) Polls for college football. This year, Alabama continues to be ranked at the top and will likely emerge being ranked No. 1 in the first BCS polls with Oregon in the second spot followed by South Carolina. Balance of the BCS rankings will consist of Florida, West Virginia, LSU and Notre Dame etc.

In January 2013, it will be interesting to see which teams will play for the national championship. Most probably, at least one “one-loss” team will be in the final game. It will be two more seasons, starting in 2014, wherein there will be BCS playoffs to determine the ultimate national champion. Until such time, college football fans will have to continue with the current system which is based on the “computers” and style points rather than 100% performance on the field.
